Efficiency challenges for on-field work in humanitarian and development sectors
Currently, organisations on the ground are working in silos and data sharing is very limited. As a result, different organisations end up doing duplicate or overlapping work.
We identified the below mentioned reasons that make it difficult to have a regularly-updated dataset:
- Dispersed data: Information is scattered across different reports which are inconsistently updated.
- Accessibility: A lot of the work is done in remote parts of the world which are not well connected. So, even if an attempt is made to regularly update data, there might still be a lag.
- Lack of obligations: There are very few limited and consistent mandates to have a synchronised dataset across the sectors.
- Prioritisation: Organisations are busy with on-field tasks, which take precedence over providing accurate data
